MAKE US A KING!!!!! THE CRY OF THE FLESH WE MUST OVERCOME

Man has an innate desire to worship . When a man is far from experiencing the true God and worshiping him, his desire moves towards making a hero or worshiping something greater than himself or a personality that reflects what he desires to be. In a religious sense, the desire of the natural man and is to make a king for himself  after his natural whims and caprices. While God desire is to be the true King  and Lord over his children, his children as it happened in the days of Samuel (1 Sam 8:6-8)  always desire a “VISIBLE KING “ to rule over them and lead them in the battle of life   against their enemies. Our goal should not be to rule over our brethren but to serve them until Christ is formed in them.

MAKE US A KING
But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said,
Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the
LORD. And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken
unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee:
for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me,
that I should not reign over them. According to all the
works which they have done since the day that I brought
them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they
have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also
unto thee. 1 Sam 8:6-8
The trend today is not  different  as men struggles in rebellion against the Lordship of the  holy and  true King, the omnipotent king of all creation. Men  fashion out of their desire for a king after the imagination of their “deceived heart, “ a man shoulder high above the people” eloquent charismatic, strong, self-willed and gifted enough to attract and command the respect of the carnal men with little regard for the heart content and degree of Christlikeness.

I have seen a lot of leader struggling hard to manipulate and break the congregation into  becoming their “subjects; as they rule over them. I have also seen many church members praising their leadership into a place of ‘ Kingship” reserved only for the Lord Jesus who will not share his glory with another for he alone is the savior and Lord over his body, the church. It is common these days to hear words like “ That’s my pastor, he is the  God that I see in the church” and  sometimes you hear introductory words of flattery by members or others saying “ Put your hands together and welcome the Great  man of God, the apostle of apostles, the bishop of bishops, our Papa , our prophet, teacher, evangelist and all in all……” The destructive effect of this is the  creation of  a pompous self-inflated egocentric leadership  incapable of drawing life from “what every joint supply” and in this state, delusion, pride,  errors and downfall is imminent  if no adjustment is made  as it happens to Saul. We are not to rule over our brethren but to shepherd them. We are not called to dominate but to dominate creation. The kingly power is only given to those who overcome in this age and our quest must be to overcome every form of idolatry.  This pre-occupation of the earthmen is repeated over and over in the scripture as we see in Aaron and Gideon’s ministry

MAKE US GODS
Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go
before us: for [as for] this Moses, which brought us out of
the land of Egypt, we know  not what is become of him.
And they made a calf in those days, and offered
sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their
own hands. Then God turned, and gave them up to
worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of
the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me
slain beasts and sacrifices [by the space of] forty years in
the wilderness? Acts 7: 40-43}
During the ministry of Aaron, the idolatrous nature of man cried out defiantly against the will of God to Aaron saying “ make us  a God” and unto Gideon, they say . Rule over us “
Aaron made the people a Golden calf and Gideon refused to be their King insisting that God should rule over them and under intense pressure made for the people an ephod that eventually became a snare to Israel and to the house of Gideon. Aaron and Gideon  are in essence types of leaderships that are leading  the people away from their true King through personality worship into swift derailment and   destruction.`

Jesus himself encountered the same temptation as people coerced to making a king but he escaped from them. The solution for those who will overcome is to be like Jesus and run away from such pressure, resisting the  temptation and refusing unnecessary accolades before  the race is finished  as we must walk so as to finish the race gloriously with the master saying  “well done, my faithful servant,  enter  into the Joy of your Lord”.

JESUS
Then those men, when they had
seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that
prophet that should come into the world.
When Jesus therefore perceived that they would
come and take him by force, to make him a king, he
departed again into a mountain himself alone. John 6:14-15

GIDEON
Then the men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule
thou over us, both thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son also:
for thou hast delivered us from the hand of Midian.
And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither
shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.
And Gideon said unto them, I would desire a
request of you, that ye would give me every man the
earrings of his prey. (For they had golden earrings, because
they [were] Ishmaelites. And they answered, We
will willingly give [them.] And they spread a garment, and
did cast therein every man the earrings of his prey.
And the weight of the golden earrings that he requested was
a thousand and seven hundred [shekels] of gold; beside
ornaments, and collars, and purple raiment that [was] on the
kings of Midian, and beside the chains that [were] about
their camels’ necks. {8:27} And Gideon made an ephod
thereof, and put it in his city, [even] in Ophrah: and all
Israel went thither a whoring after it: which thing became a
snare unto Gideon, and to his house. Judges 8:22-27

WHEN MEN RULE
Samuel by the instruction of God educate the people on what man is capable of doing when given the authority over another man as again a nation under God. The fallen nature of man and the corruption inside comes to full light in leadership as men do say that power exposes the corruption within man and  this is made manifest in governance. The reign of man over men is usually characterized by the following expressions as highlighted by Prophet Samuel in the scriptures
Now therefore hearken unto their voice:
howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the
manner of the king that shall reign over them.
And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto
the people that asked of him a king. And he said,
This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over
you: He will take your sons, and appoint [them] for himself,
for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and [some] shall
run before his chariots. And he will appoint him
captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and [will
set them] to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to
make his instruments of war, and instruments of his
chariots. And he will take your daughters [to be]
confectionaries, and [to be] cooks, and [to be] bakers.
And he will take your fields, and your vineyards,
and your oliveyards, [even] the best [of them,] and give
[them] to his servants. And he will take the tenth of
your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers,
and to his servants.  And he will take your
menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest
young men, and your asses, and put [them] to his work.
{He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be
his servants. {8:18} And ye shall cry out in that day because
of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the
LORD will not hear you in that day.
Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice
of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over
us; That we also may be like all the nations; and that
our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our
battles. {8:21} And Samuel heard all the words of the
people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD.
And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their
voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the
men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.
As Prophet Samuel highlighted in his words to the Israelites Sam 8:9-22, For these kings of the earth, it is all about them and not about Christ and his church. The result is enslavement, servitude, oppression and exploitation, manipulation and impoverishment and the fruits of these evil kings are thus.

HE WILL TURN YOUR MEN TO HIS  SLAVES, DRIVERS AND GUARDS

HE WILL TURN  YOU SONS TO HIS COMEDIANS AND MONEY MACHINE

HE WILL TURN YOUR DAUGHTERS TO MAIDS, COOKS AND  CLEANERS

HE WILL TAKE OVER YOUR LIFE, YOUR TIME, YOUR GOODS, YOUR PROFITS

HE WILL MAKE MERCHANDISE OF YOU,  IMPROVERISH  AND OPPRESS YOU.

HE WILL TAKE AWAY YOUR VISON & RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD SUCH THAT YOU CAN NO LONGER TOUCH BASE WITH GOD.

We must therefore take heed and desire not the ways of the  “kings of the earth” neither must we seek to be like them but we must seek the rule of God over  our lives. Kings of the earth may be honored but do not deserves worship that belongs only to God for him alone we must worship.

 The TRUE “kings “ .
The true kings are those who will overcome the flesh, the world and the devil. They will be obedient to the Father and die to the lust and selfish ambition that drown men. They will know what responsibility is and be given thrones which represent spheres of influence. The thrones will be eternal as they will reign with him forever and ever.  Let this inspired words spoken in a vision to “ Rick Joyner” in his book “ The Final Quest Speak to our hearts to pursue true Kingship which is not about taking advantage of men but about ‘Knowing God, Christlikeness and Obedience to his will” .
“I was called to one of the highest thrones. All that you have and will accomplish would have been in my heavenly account as well. Instead, much of what I gave my attention to was of very little true eternal significance. What looks good on earth looks very different here. What will make you a king on earth will often be a stumbling block to keep you from being a king here. What will make you a king here is lowly and un-esteemed on earth”-By a  Great Leader now in the lowest  part of heaven
