WISDOM FOR THE TIMES (1)

What do we do in times like this? Why is the foolproof worldly wisdom failing? What do we do nations are reeling forward and backward like a drunken man?

It is obvious to keen observers that we are in a season when the Lord is turning the wisdom of the “wise” backward and is making their knowledge foolish. He is catching the smart men in their craftiness.

What do we do in these humbling times when mighty men are realizing that the race is no longer for the best and victory is no longer for the strongest armyIn 2008, Putin technically seized part of Georgia and got away with it, he annexed Crimea in 2014 and got away with it, but his annexation of Donetsk and other regions in Ukraine is becoming his albatross.

The USA has been sanctioning nations over the years, some rightly, some wrongly and everything seems to be working well with that approach but, one more sanction and bang, it’s a boomerang! the petrodollar is going.

God is calling the nations to recognize him as the Most high who rules in the affairs of men. The Almighty is proclaiming his sovereignty in the nations, calling all men to live and lead   in the fear of God. David learned the hard way that God still rules among leaders since the earth belongs to him and everything in it. Here the words of King Nebuchadnezzar in his gospel to all men.

“And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honored him that lives forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: and all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What are you doing? Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgement: and those that walk in pride he can humbly.”

‭‭Daniel‬ ‭4‬:‭34‬-‭35‬, ‭37‬ ‭

Yes! He learned his lesson in a hard way, but many wise men, leaders and nations are still repeating his errors, going on in pride and arrogance of power and delusion of past successes. Will Israel learn? Will Iran learn? Will the rulers of Lebanon and others learn? Time will tell. To be continued.
